The final experience

See the solution first.

The core experience, before the process behind it.

Boy on the Inside film website and campaign experience

The design challenge

The project needed to introduce the film while also creating a safe, useful path toward reflection and support after viewers encountered sensitive themes.

What mattered

Three decisions, not every artifact.

01

Let the story breathe

What we learnedDense campaign information competed with the emotional weight of the film.

Design responseWe used a restrained hierarchy and paced the story across short, intentional sections instead of presenting everything at once.

02

Separate story from support

What we learnedViewers needed resources, but placing urgent support language inside promotional content made both harder to navigate.

Design responseA distinct resource hub groups help by need and makes support reachable without interrupting the film narrative.

03

Extend care beyond the screen

What we learnedThe most sensitive moment could happen after a screening, away from the website.

Design responseWe created a physical care card with grounding prompts and support information that audiences could take with them.

Outcome & reflection

Impact design is not only promotion. For stories involving trauma and recovery, the experience must also create space for care, reflection, and access to help.
